ABOUT THE EVENT /

We are a non-profit film festival organized by students from the English Department at National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan. This film festival aims to invite films that address the issue of LGBTQ aging. Taiwan has officially become an aged society and there have been a lot of effort both in the public and private sectors trying to cope with the challenge related to aging. Yet, not much has been talked about in relation to LGBTQ elders. Therefore, we plan to curate a film festival that shows films representing LGBTQ elders, including but not limited to alternative lifestyles, the stories of transition about sexuality and identity, and encounters with illness and death. It is our hope that this festival can trigger further discussion among local LGBTQ audiences about leading a life in later years.
The venue, Jade Cafe is one of the coziest location in Hualien holding various cultural activities since 1988. The screening is free. The audience only need to cover the minimum order for one drink of Jade Cafe.

The program will be finalized after the procedure of "Call for Entry." The film festival will contain 4-5 screenings during the 3 days. Every screening will contain a QA session or  special event; we will arrange the speaker in accordance with the theme of each films.
